When Larry Hoover first assimilated with the Disciples and the Black Gangster Disciple nation was formed; Larry chose three men to be his top enforcers: King Rusty, Hickey Nut and Angel.  Rusty was one of the original Outlaw Supreme Gangsters that settled in the Roseland neighborhood at 95th Street in 1968.  Rusty, 100 Street Sam and Ulysses “U-S” Floyd were the founders of the Outlaws and Wild Hundreds GDs we know today.

In the year 1971, these three men and others had friction with some Black Gangster Disciples and wanted a split from the BGDN, however, not all ties would be severed.  Rusty opened the Lynchmen at 107th and Racine in the Racine Courts apartments in the Washington Heights neighborhood that year and kept his alliance with the Supreme Gangsters and the Gangster alliance. The name of the organization would be “Black Gangster Lynchmen.”

Eventually in the 70s the Lynchmen moved to the West Pullman neighborhood and took over Cooper Park (Coopville) which is an area between 115th to 118th, and Ashland to Racine.

The Black Gangster Disciples and Black Gangster Lynchmen would remain allies and would both become a part of the Folk Nation alliance in 1978.

In the year 1981, the Lenchmen were officially or unofficially disbanded when the lines were drawn between BGD and BD as the Folk alliance was simultaneously laid out.  The reason for the disbanding is because the Lenchmen became a faction of the Black Gangster Disciple group; thus, making them a BGD faction.  Older members of this group still continued to call themselves Lenchmen but only for nostalgia purposes.  Young ones growing up around Cooper Park that joined this faction of the Gangster Disciples began calling themselves Lenchmen but it is only a faction name and not a separate nation.

Over time King Rusty and Angel were killed in the streets while Hickey Nut was put in prison and became the leader from behind prison walls.  Over time LSG shrunk in size down to having main operations only at Cooper Park.  The Lenchmen are still an active Gangster Disciple faction.

This page is mainly about the history of the Lenchmen seperate group from 1971-1981.
