One of the oldest articles I could find that even mentions black street gangs. The oldest being the 1945 article I posted above. In both cases they were fighting with white gangs. In this one I am not sure if one of the white kids was the victim or a black kid but it happened in Armour Square which was white, Asian and black neighborhood back then. Blacks didn’t move out until the later 1950s but there was much animosity toward blacks by Italians in this area back in these days
